This is the standard bobbin case for everyday sewing on Brother's top-of-line drop-in bobbin machines. It sits in the hook area under the needle plate, holds the bobbin and sets the bobbin thread tension. Its tension is set at the factory for regular sewing. For embroidery with other bobbin threads, these machines also use a separate embroidery bobbin case (part number XC8167651).
